This ships ladder with handrails is an example of a loft ladder made in a ships ladder style.

Our client built a new home and had custom bookshelves built. They contacted us and wanted a rolling library ladder that would match the fir wood on the bookshelf fronts. They had seen the small bookshelf that we put on our contemporary ladders and asked us to include one on their ladder. The hardware we used allows the ladder to be stored vertically against the shelving, or to be removed and stored on a nearby rail.
