Walnut Rolling Library Ladder with Booky

THE STORY

Our client renovated and added a library wall with beautiful walnut shelves. He wanted a walnut ladder to match and liked Booky, the small bookshelf at the top of the ladder. The massive challenge was that the rasil would be mounted on a strip of wood above the bookshelf and Geoff wanted to be able to store the ladder vertically when not in use. I mocked up his bookshelf in my shop and had to be extremely precise in mounting the hardware as I calculated that there would only be 1/2” between the ladder and ceiling in the storage position. Thankfully it worked! The hardware we used also allows the ladder to be removed to store on a short rail on a nearby wall.
